Brawny anyone?

Yesterday was picture day at Poston.  Nate decided to dress as a lumberjack.  Thus ensuring that 20 years from now when his classmates look at their old yearbooks they will be saying "I can't remember that guy's name, but he sure was weird."
At the beginning of the summer Nate somehow convinced me to let him go without a haircut until the second week of school.  Yesterday was week 2 and I was waiting with the scissors when our little logger came home.

Before
 After.
Notice he looks equally happy in each picture.  He's trying to come up with his own version of "Blue Steel".
And finally, Ivy has decided to take up the violin. A wonderful choice since our new neighborhood is over run with stray cats.  We plan to have her practice in the front yard and call her the Feline Fiddler.  JUST KIDDING!! She's excited to start orchestra and we are excited to go her recitals.  We will be sure to let those of you who are local know when the time comes so you can join us.

Good luck to Ivy with that violin, and I liked Nate's hair better before.

I think in 20 years the kids will be saying "I can't remember that guy's name, but wasn't he the dude who let his MOM cut his hair?"

Um, I think you are both just jealous because you live too far away to have me cut YOUR hair.
