Um, yeah, so today I was really proud to be a mom.
First I went to pick Eli up from school and it was a little hot. You know, Arizona + all the months except January= HOT.
So, Eli says to me “Wow, you are sweating. That’s kind of embarrassing for a woman.”
“Really, only for a woman? It’s okay if men sweat?”
“Well, it’s not that embarrassing for Misty, she goes to the gym. And definetly not for Heather, she’s a workout machine!!”
Bottom line, I don’t exercise, so I should be embarrassed about my sweaty pits. Misty and Heather can sweat all they want, they exercise.
I had just about recovered my self-esteem when I made the mistake of asking Wesley about his day at dinner.
“It was okay, a little boring. I did learn this scripture in seminary that I wanted to tell you and Dad about. I think it could really help you guys with the way you think about parenting and stuff.”
“No kidding, what’s the scripture?”
“I can’t remember all of it, but it’s something about having a mote in your eye.”
That’s right, here’s the scripture-
Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Yep, the next time I remind him to do his homework I better make sure my eye is free of beams.
He really is a spiritual giant. We are just as proud as you would be if he were yours.

I'm glad I'm allowed to be sweaty (cause I always am... agreed, Arizona = HOT!).
