Another riviting update
This week started with Wesley and Ivy sick, sick, sick. There were fevers, coughing and all around crankiness.
Here, is Wesley. Doesn't he look miserable?
On Wednesday afternoon Ivy was feeling better so we used this...
The city of Mesa has this great program. If you live here and you haven't used it, what are you waiting for? These passes are available at all Mesa Public Library locations. You check them out with your library card then 4 members of your family have one week to vistit the "attraction" for FREE. So far we have gone to the Phoenix Zoo and the Mesa Southwest Museum (or whatever they're calling it these days). Here's a link that explains the passes and lists all the places you can go. We've figured out that the best way to have a large selection of passes to choose from is to get to the library right as it opens. Otherwise you'll be stuck going to the Bead Museum. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This is one of the 3 pictures Eli took at the museum. They also really raked it in at the gold panning exhibit this time. We don't like to brag, but we're super rich now. Sadly there are no pictures of our golden wealth so you will have to take our word for it.
On Thursday evening Ivy made this giant cookie for her teacher in our non-solar oven.
On Friday someone (like her mother) forgot to take it to the school, a tragic turn of events that left Ivy and Eli no choice but to cut it in half and eat it. Sorry Mrs.Ivy's teacher.
It was really yummy.
And big.
While they consumed their giant cookie they watched The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Because I insist upon eduational television in the afternoons.
Since the temperature dipped down to a shivery 80 degrees (with much lower temps at night, like in the 60's--can you believe it? Brr!) I had to get out my sweaters.
Here I am watching the Fresh Prince with Ivy and trying not to look like a sweaty turtle.
It's not working.
