Slip'nSlide'n

Scott and Heather got Nate a deluxe slip-n-slide for his birthday.
As you can see it was (is) a big hit.
You really need to click on this one so you can see inside Emma's cute little nose.
Thank goodness that inflatable "stopper" was at the end or I betcha Brandon would've slid clean into next week.
Annie decided to try the slip and crawl method. It's easier on your hair-do.
Thanks Scott and Heather!!

What is it with kids nowadays?

They think they can just grow up anytime they feel like it.
I don't like it.  Not one little bit.
Edge is 18 today.
18!!
It just doesn't seem possible.
Happy Birthday Edge!! Let's not have anymore of these, okay?  18 is a nice age to be forever, right?

Poor Cooper

This is what happened when he found out he didn't get to keep living at his favorite aunt's house. We miss you, come back, your room is still vacant. Mostly. Except for that Polly Pocket invasion, but that can be "contained", if you know what I mean.

We enjoy each other sooo much.....

...on Friday we ditched the kids and went out to dinner.

For the low low price of a movie ticket (okay, for the outrageous price of a movie ticket) I was able to get Todd to wear that get up all night. Sorry Alexis.
It was worth every penny.

Vacation Day 4

On the last morning we raced to Autopia --so we could start the day with a headache from the fumes----I mean, so Ivy could drive one more time.
It was kind of scary with that crazy guy behind us.
Right after lunch Nate and Eli decided to give the tower of vomit a try. Why anyone would want to ride something with built in puke shields is beyond me, but they did, and they loved it. We're so proud.
By mid-afternoon Ivy was wearing down, so we bought her churro #783 and talked Aunt Misty into taking her for a while so we could head over to the Jedi Training Center.
There are many prerequisites for Jedi training. You have to be brave, you must shun the dark side, and being clever doesn't hurt.
As soon as the Jedi master saw Eli's sign he knew it was true, the force was strong, and also, Eli's mom rocked. (Fortunate it was, that I had that 3 page Disneyland cheat sheet from Lori in my backpack.)
Not even Darth Maul could scare him, (after the tower of regurgitation, you can do just about anything). He's well on his way to becoming a true Jedi Knight. If only he could use the force to clean his room. That would truly be a power worth having.

We interupt our vacation coverage...

Vacation Day 3 (part two)

After that nutritious meal (poptarts are part of a balanced breakfast, but if you prepare them correctly, they can be ALL of a balanced lunch) we took our three youngest and Jaidyn and Brandon to the beach for a few hours.

At some point Brandon decided to see how much sand he could get stuck to his body.  He used the "rolling down a sandy slope" method.

It works pretty well.

All good things must come to an end, and most of the sand was washed off before we got back to the car.  Except this last bit that we decided made him look like he had hobbit feet.
