Like I was saying,
Wesley broke his wrist. Easter weekend he went to the Dunes with a friend (and the friend's parents). The first night there he had an accident on a quad and broke his wrist.
The x-rays revealed that he had broken it in two places and the breaks were very close to the growth plate in his wrist. Which could be a bad thing since Wesley is not quite done growing.
The following Monday he saw an orthopedic surgeon who decided to take Wesley to surgery to see what he could do to repair the damage.
Here we are arriving at the hospital. Not even being on lots of pain medication can make Wesley willing to be photographed.
Here he is saying something like "It's bad enough that I might DIE in surgery, can't you just leave me alone?"
He's soo dramatic. (I think he gets it from Ivy)
When we got inside Wes got to change into one of those super cool hospital gowns. I thought for certain he would want me to take his picture then, but no dice.
He did however get a nice shot of the "collection cups". It must be a man thing, just the sight of them was hilarious to him.
This is as close as I could get to a picture of him in his fancy hospital dress.
When it was all over a small incision had been made and a few pins inserted. His Dr. was able to set the arm without disturbing the growth plate, which means Wesley's arm should continue to grow as scheduled. It's in a splint for now, he will probably get a hard cast in about a week. All in all, not fun, but it could have been much worse. Wesley's Dunes days might over for a while.

We have been busy!
Nate is 14 now, so even though the candles were tall, he was able to manage them.
Ivy got this exquisite hair piece at the Dollar Store, for, you guessed it...$1.00!! It was a steal.
Brandon and Ella came over on Saturday and we made cupcakes.
Equals
Then we all dyed our fingers and a few eggs.
Oh, and Wesley broke his wrist. But that's a story for another day. Maybe tomorrow. It's very thrilling.

See this baby?
Couldn't you just eat him up? We got to snack on him for a whole week!
I know!!! We are sooo lucky! Last week Eric and Ember's family drove down from Utah and spent part of their spring break with us.
And because we are such wonderful hosts, we met them at the door with a healthy meal of hot dogs and ranch dip. We also provided complementary nunchuks to Kyle, who is a ninja turtle in training.
While they were here I made Shannon and Jessica clean the pool, because, as you know, I am a big fat slave driver.
And, because I am also VERY unfair, I let these two play video games all day while everyone else was cleaning the pool.
I hope they don't make him wear a mask when he joins the Ninja Turtle Guild, he's much to cute to cover up.
A couple of people, who shall remain nameless(Sylvan and Eric), thought it would be great fun to load up 10 kids and drive 100 miles for the best Mexican food in the world. Wesley was sooo excited.
By the time we got there everyone was either worn out or delirious. Neither one makes for a very pleasurable ride. Needless to say for an assortment of reasons we were all happy to arrive at the infamous landmark of Mexican cusine La Casita. UNTIL.......we got inside and they informed us that, they, the best Mexican resturant in the world, were out of tortillas!! WHAT??!!
Luckily the second best Mexican resturant in the world was just one back alley away. I'm sure you can imagine how relieved we were that there was a plan B.
Dear LaCasita,
If you ever hope to have your picture on our world famous blog, thus receiving the priceless amounts of free publicity such exposure brings, I recommend you do not EVER run out of tortillas again.
Yours truly,
A woman who rode 100 miles in a car full of primary song singing little girls
Later in the week everyone went out back and Eric bounced them to the Moon. It was great fun.
If you click on this picture you will be able to see just how much effort Uncle Eric was putting into all of that bouncing. It's quite impressive.
Eric has tons of pictures of "Go Kart" day on his camera, which I KNOW he will be posting on the new blog that we are sure he has been inspired to start, if for no other reason than to tell his side of the story. We had a really great time while they were here and hope we will get to see them all again soon.

Great Nate!
Today Nate is 14. Here are some interesting things about Nate.
He's strong and funny. I'm pretty sure he gets his muscles from all the Ramen Noodles he eats. Everyone knows that's how Arnold did it. And naturally he gets his wonderful senses of humour from his mother.
Everyone loves him (even Brandon, whose adoration I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to buy for about 8 years)
He can jump really high when he is being a Jedi on the trampoline. I double dog dare Darth Vader to stop by our house and challenge him.
He has an awesome sense of fashion. (A gift from Sylvan, or was it Edge, maybe it was Scott? He's lucky to be surrounded by so many well dressed men)
You can see why the ladies all love him.
He has been known to occasionally say something he shouldn't (I don't even want to guess where that trait could have come from), but he always feels bad later. Usually he's a really nice guy.
Happy Birthday Nate!!
We Love You!!
