Turns out coming up with a weekly update is a little harder than I thought it would be.  Guess we're just not that exciting.  Who would have thought?
On Sunday evening we had one last gathering with mom before she left on Tuesday.  We all got together at Jon and Misty's and ate obscene amounts of dessert.  It was great.
After the kids were all sugared up they started wrestling, while Haley accompanied them on the piano.
The crowd went wild.
REALLY wild!!
Then we took a bunch of pictures of Annie.
And finally got a good one.
Sylvan and Misty discussing current events and election propaganda.
On Monday Eli and I took mom downtown for lunch and to DI.  She said Mangos was okay, but she LOVED DI.  Anyone who's interested in going in with me on a secondhand afgan for her Christmas gift give me a call.
At DI Eli got a broken VCR to take apart.  Inside he found this tape, undamaged. It was a jackpot day.
You don't have to pretend you aren't jealous that I now possess "The Secrets".
On Tuesday Eli cooked dinner, omlettes.  It was his first time and he did a great job.
Just so you know, Wesley isn't lying, I make him work all the time.  Nate is just making sure he does a good job.
Here's Edge catching up on all of the election news so he can tell us how to vote.
That's about it for this week.   We will try to get arrested or something next week so we can be a little more exciting.

Mom has been here this week so we have spent a lot of time with Jon and Misty's and Scott and Heather's families.  On Tuesday evening we went to J&M's.
Jaidyn and Emma
Ivy & Ella-They do hair.  Horse hair.
Scott and Annie.
Nate had a scout camp out this weekend, notice how prepared he is.  If it's sunny, he's set.
Um, yeah, she did her own hair.
I didn't take any of these pictures, but the photographer insisted they be included in this week's post.
On Friday Ivy had her first sick day of the school year.  Eli isn't sick, just sympathetic.
This is my brother, some people say he's kind of mean. All I know is he's always bossing me around.
On Friday morning I wore this skirt to assert my fashion independence (and embarrass my mom) and I got this great little plant at Trader Joe's.
These two, I promise you, were up to no good.  I never got any proof, but I had my eye on them.
Some people are really cute and like to have their picture taken.  Others, while still pretty cute, are not so fond of the camera.
This is Emma trying to get me to pick her up.  But I said "Forget it kid. You gotta learn to walk some time and I'm not coming down to the kindergarten to carry you to recess."  Because that's the kind of aunt I am .  Loving but practical.
Oh yes he did go out like that.  To a party. This post proves over and over that our family has some serious fashion sense.
This is her FAVORITE meal.

I can't even tell you

how much work it takes to maintain this level of coolness.

Back to School!!

Last Monday was the first day of school, the kids were all (well almost all) looking forward to it more than I was.  I kept my hot breakfast promise and cooked about 20 eggs in a nest last week. Ugh!
Looks delish, doesn't it?
Ivy packs her lunch about half of the time, she wasn't taking any chances with the schoool lunch on the first day.

Can you see the joyous anticipation in his eyes?  Me either.
Everyone made it.  The first week seemed to go pretty well.  Ivy was so excited to tell me that the librarian told them that now that they are 3rd graders the whole library is full of books and they can check out any book they want.  Wesley was able to identify 3 teachers (on the first day) that are going to give him problems.  Poor guy.
